The bit "About the Role"

To shape and lead the development and delivery software team and the projects to time, cost and quality. To provide key leadership to ensure that the solutions delivered are fit for purpose, secure and performant for the business.

  • Ensuring that the software is architected, designed and built to meet the business aims for a lean and fit for purpose, performant and secure operating model.
  • Accountable for the development approach, from conception to live.
  • Delivery of software elements of projects to time, cost and quality
  • Accountable for developing, implementing and actively maintaining software architecture, development, testing and delivery standards
  • Accountable for the application documentation necessary to maintain long term viability of systems investments
  • Responsible for optimal database design and configuration and obtaining specialist advice when required.
  • Responsible for the Health & Safety actions for themselves and those under their instruction to ensure people are working safely and within the H&S guidelines, policies and procedures.
  • Escalate Key decisions to your Line Manager/Executive Director/Sponsors as they arise
  • Deliver "lunch & Learn" presentations on key topics and techniques.

The bit "About You"

  • Highly energetic and empowering leadership style, supportive with those learning and with sufficient controls to ensure progress is assured with the team.
  • Have demonstrable experience of leading internal and external development teams to deliver well architected, value for money, secure and performant solutions.
  • Be familiar with current industry trends and differing technologies and their merits including extensive knowledge of TFS, Visual Studio, C#, ASP.NET, SQL Server, WCF Services, SSRS, PowerBI and Qlik.
  • Experience in integration between trading platforms (incl EPOS and Websites) and ERPs (such as D365, Netsuite or SAP)
  • Ability to prioritise a varied workload, and able to plan and organise workloads across your team.
  • Ability to challenge/influence business case/requirements.
  • Have strong problem solving skills and resilience to issues and influences outside of his/her control.
  • Excellent team player, flexible, responsive, takes ownership and can work on the detail in a real time environment.
