People Services Advisor 
Full time permanent position

Reporting into the People Services Team Leader, you will play an essential role within the People Team.  You will be a passionate advisor, with HR knowledge and proven ability to support colleagues through their employment lifecycle.

You are a good communicator that can easily build rapport with internal and external stakeholders and provide an excellent service to our colleagues.  You are driven by a passion for colleague experience and able to meet routine deadlines.

 You will be keen to learn and be able to absorb items of HR legislation relative to the role and the ability to explain that to our wider colleague population.

This advisory role is responsible for some of the key day to day duties within the People Services team which ultimately ensure that around 4000 colleagues receive a best in class, end to end colleague lifecyle, from joining us, to life’s big moments, to leaving us.

About the Role

 Responsibilities include, but not limited to

 ·         Responding to queries on employment contracts

·         Supporting the early stages of the absence management (long and short term) process in support of the ER Team

·         Support colleagues with queries in relation to Family Leave, particularly in relation to risk assessments, enforcing maternity         leave etc

·         Advise new colleagues and hiring managers in relation to right to work checks

·         Review and log Records of Informal Discussions and advising line managers of next steps, escalating to the ER Team as required

·         Advise and guide managers through the probation process and issue relevant communications

·         Management of the AWOL process

·         Triage ER case work, providing initial advice and escalating to the ER Team as required

·         Be responsible for all aspects of responding to DSAR’s

·         Advise on and process all Flexible Working requests

·         Following up on customer complaints and escalate to the ER Team as required

·         Review, update and write people policies across the employee lifecycle

·         Supporting aggrieved colleagues with informal resolutions to their concerns

·         Act as an escalation point for the People Services Assistants

·         Support the People Services Team Leader on projects as they arise

·         Any other task commensurate with the role

Experience required

·         Knowledge / understanding of employment legislation in the relevant areas

·         Experience of providing advice across multiple facets of HR, particularly ER

·         Experience of supporting a busy shared People Services function

·         Intermediate level of word and excel
