The bit "About the Role"

Reporting to the Allocations Manager, the Allocator is responsible for ensuring all allocations are completed in a timely manner to drive sales. An allocator role is often the first step in to becoming a Branch Merchandiser or Product Merchandiser. Great communication skills and teamwork are required as you will be working closely with the Buying and Stock teams to understand the product coming in and to anticipate sales volumes.

You will:

  • Review all daily orders that are delivered and prepare allocations
  • Be a key contact from our stores with queries on allocations
  • Liaise with our Warehouse teams with queries on orders/pack quantities
  • Undertake sales analysis to understand which products are selling and take appropriate action to maximise every sales opportunity.
  • Run ad hoc reports as required

Qualities and Experience:

  • Numerate
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • IT literate – happy to learn and utilise in-house computer systems
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

This role calls for a person who has the ability to exercise patience, reflect on situations, apply concentration to the task and be unyielding in those areas where they possess knowledge and expertise. You should be dependable, thorough, deliberate, careful, persistent and prepared to tie up all the loose ends. Routine, organisation and structure are also likely to be important characteristics within this position.
